E-Kaga Citizen Certificate NFT Provided in Ishikawa Prefecture's Kaga City E-Kaga Citizen Program to Be Issued on Japan Open Chain

Japan Blockchain Foundation Co., Ltd. (CEO: Hidekazu Kondo; hereinafter "our company"), the consortium management company for Japan Open Chain, is pleased to announce that the "e-Kaga Citizen Certificate NFT" provided in the e-Kaga Citizen Program introduced by Kaga City, Ishikawa Prefecture, aiming to create related population using NFT, will be issued on "Japan Open Chain," Japan's public blockchain.

◽️ Implementation Background

Kaga City has been working on smart city initiatives utilizing digital technology, and in 2021 announced the provision of the "e-Kaga Citizen Program" to create electronic citizens called "e-Kaga Citizens," and has been proceeding with its introduction.

As a project adopted for the FY2023 Digital Garden City State Concept Promotion Grant "Digital Implementation Type" My Number Card Utilization Horizontal Development Case Creation Type, the "e-Kaga Citizen Certificate NFT" provided by Kaga City aiming to create related population utilizing NFT is equipped with Web3 wallet management functionality using public personal authentication with My Number Card.

Note that CORGEAR Co., Ltd., a Sony in-group startup and validator (blockchain operating partner) of Japan Open Chain, has supported all processes until the start of this program, implementing strategy formulation, planning and system design/development of various services including the "e-Kaga Citizen Site" and "e-Kaga Citizen Certificate NFT," and planning/operation of demonstration experiments by Kaga City, businesses within the city, and participants from outside the city.
